Pussycat Dolls announced as Brighton Pride headliners
Chart-topping group The Pussycat Dolls have been announced as headliners for this year’s Brighton Pride.
The group, which have sold more than 54 million records worldwide and achieved eight UK top 10 singles, will perform a 75-minute show to close the two-day Fabuloso Pride in the Park celebration on August 2
In a statement, The Pussycat Dolls said: “We are honoured to headline Brighton Pride.
“It’s such a massive and important event bringing everyone together for one big weekend of acceptance and love, which is what the Pussycat Dolls are all about.
“We can’t wait to share our show with you all and have the biggest party ever!”
The Pussycat Dolls were founded in 1995 as a burlesque troupe. Hit singles include Dont’t Cha, Jai Ho!, Sway and Stickwitu.
The group split in 2010 following their 2009 world tour and Nicole Scherzinger, Ashley Roberts, Kimberly Wyatt, Jessica Sutta and Carmit Bachar announced their reunion without band member Melody Thornton last year, returning with new single React last week.
Director of Brighton & Hove Pride Paul Kemp said: “For our 30th anniversary we are really excited that LGBTQ+ icons The Pussycat Dolls will be headlining the FABULOSO main stage on Sunday 2nd August with a UK-Pride exclusive performance.
“The Pussycat Dolls are the first of many artist announcements to come.
“Watch this space for loads of great LGBTQ+ performers and allies over the coming weeks.”
