Pigeon race starts at Beachy Head
A 340-mile pigeon race started at Beachy Head yesterday morning (Monday, July 26).
The competition is the last Old Birds Race of the season and 9,000 pigeons took part in the trek up to Hartlepool Durham.
Usually the racing pigeons are released from Arras in northern France but due to covid restrictions the birds are unable to leave the UK.
The race was suppose to start at 6am yesterday but was delayed until 11am due to fog.
