Missing Eastbourne man is found dead

Police say the body of a man recovered at Beachy Head on Wednesday (February 4) has been identified as Deepak Shivamangal.

The 57-year-old had been reported missing from his home in Susans Road the day before.

In an appeal previously shared with this newspaper, Sussex Police said Mr Shivamangal had been referred to mental health services at Eastbourne District General Hospital on the Monday evening (February 2) but was later released.

Police said there were no suspicious circumstances and relatives have been informed of Mr Shivamangal’s death.

An inquest is due to open at Eastbourne Town Hall at 10am on Thursday (February 13).
