As part of the national #PharmacyHeroes campaign, organised by Association of Independent Multiple Pharmacies (AIMP), the Paydens Pharmacy Ltd team in Hailsham High Street has welcomed the recognition and support people have given during the crisis.

The #PharmacyHeroes campaign has pictured hundreds of patients posing with thank you posters in their local pharmacies or on doorsteps after their medication has been home-delivered.

Charlotte said how it has been challenging working on the frontline but that the team is working hard to put customers first.

She said, “It can be challenging at times, working on the frontline. Increased workloads, wearing personal protective equipment for hours on end, and increased deliveries to vulnerable patients have been some of the main issues to overcome.

“We have all worked incredibly hard as a team to put customers first and also stick to the correct guidelines.”

Charlotte wanted to say thank you back to the public.

She said, “Thank you for your continued support and understanding in these changing times. We will continue to serve the community as best as possible while we adapt to the ever-changing circumstances. We hope everyone stays safe and healthy!”

AIMp’s CEO Leyla Hannbeck said, “Pharmacy teams with their characteristic professionalism and care have gone above and beyond to serve their local communities through the coronavirus pandemic.

“It’s indeed a tribute to their courage, devotion and care which makes this profession so special. They are all our heroes and should be acknowledged.

Patients in isolation have relied on their community pharmacy teams during the pandemic to get vital medicines, and also have them delivered to their front door.”
