Emergency response to Alfriston car park after man ‘falls from height’

Emergency crews were alerted to a car park in Alfriston after reports that a person had ‘fallen from height’.

Police, fire crews and the ambulance service were sent to the incident at High and Over car park in Alfriston Road, Alfriston, on Tuesday (April 21).

Sussex Police said: “Police officers assisted two members of the public who helped a man in his 70s who had slipped off a path on to a steep slope at the Alfriston Road car park at High and Over, near Seaford, just after 1.30pm on Tuesday (April 21).

“He was handed over to paramedics for treatment.”

East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service confirmed crews from Seaford, Battle and Bexhill were called – but upon arrival they were stood down by police.

A spokesman said: “We were called at 1.49pm yesterday (April 21), to attend High and Over Car Park, Alfriston, following reports of a person having fallen from height.”

South East Coast Ambulance Service said: “I can confirm ambulance crews attended the scene and a man, who had reportedly fallen down a slope was assessed and treated before being taken to Conquest Hospital for further treatment.”
