Eastbourne music producers create ‘uplifiting’ You Tube video with churches across the UK

Two Eastbourne-based music producers have been key to making a Youtube video which was viewed more than two million times in its first week online and was featured on ITV’s Good Morning Britain and BBC news.

The UK Blessing, which brought together more than 65 UK churches, was compiled and mixed by Trevor Michael, a freelance recording engineer and producer based in Eastbourne.

Music producer Les Moir, also from Eastbourne, called his contacts to set up the recordings with Christian worship singers across the country to perform The Blessing, originally written by Cody Carnes, Kari Jobe, Chris Brown and Steve Furtick from Elevation Worship.

In this cover version, each singer appears on screen filmed from their home; their church or music group name comes on screen.

The Blessing UK demonstrates the musical talent in UK churches, featuring members of the well-respected All Souls Langham Place orchestra next to a rap by Christian artist Guvna B.

Different denominations are represented including the Church of England, the Catholic Church, Vineyard, Elim, New Frontiers, the Coptic Church, Baptist, Methodist, United Reformed Church and the Salvation Army.

The video has been described as uplifting and has received high praise on social media for from celebrities such as Bear Grylls, BBC presenter Dan Walker, Rev Justin Welby, Rt Rev Sarah Mullally, and former Blue Peter presenter Simon Thomas. Click here to see the video on You Tube.
