Eastbourne B&B wins top Tripadvisor award

The Sheldon in Burlington Place has received the Travellers’ Choice accolade – meaning it is in the top 10 per cent of all properties on the holiday reviewing website.

Tripavisor gives this award to accommodations, attractions, and restaurants that it says ‘consistently earn great reviews from travellers’.

Owners of the hotel are delighted with the news after a difficult year with the covid-19 pandemic.

Judith Brown said, “It has been such a hard start to the year with coronavirus chaos, we are so grateful to our guests for taking he time to review us.

“It is clear from this award our friendly, gentle approach has paid off.

“We feel thrilled our guests wholeheartedly agree and thank them from our hearts for taking the time to review us. It has been a pleasure welcoming people back.”

Throughout the lockdown, The Sheldon said it has been doing its bit to keep busy.

Judith said, “We were thrilled to be approved to take NHS workers and keyworkers followed. “It gave us a chance to problem solve the ‘new normal’ and helped us feel confident to reopen fully.”

The Sheldon is now registered with the Visit Britain ‘Good to Go’ scheme, which reassures guests of high safety standards.

But the hotel says it has tried to keep everything as ‘friendly’ as before covid, without unnecessary signage.

They have online check-in, online breakfast order pad, and regular touch points points now have anti-microbial touch pads.

“Although it’s been a challenging year for travel and hospitality, we want to celebrate our partners’ achievements.

“Award winners are beloved for their exceptional service and quality. Not only are these winners well deserving, they are also a great source of inspiration for travelers as the world begins to venture out again.”
