The popular seafront landmark says it will be back from August 1 following months of closure due to the coronavirus lockdown.

The Bandstand said in a statement, “It has been a difficult few months but we’ve been working hard to save the season.

“You’ll find the bandstand is now a socially-distanced venue and that means that there will be extra rules and conditions when attending our shows.

“These rules are necessary for us to stay open this year, so please take the time to read these as it will affect your experience of the shows.

“All of us at Eastbourne Bandstand are excited to welcome back our bands, customers and staff and look forward to seeing you all very soon.”

Tribute nights will be back on Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays until the end of September.

Then the Bandstand will be hosting shows on Fridays and Saturdays until its Halloween Finale on October 31.

Visitors are asked to collect their tickets before 6pm on the day of the event to avoid congestion at the seafront office, and card transactions are preferred.

No more than six people will be allowed to sit together within a ‘social bubble’ and a minimum of one empty seat is required between groups.

The Bandstand says its dancefloor is closed, and people can only leave their seats to go to the bar, toilets, or outside to smoke.

For the purpose of contact tracing, details for the party lead will also be required for each booking.
