Crews called to fire at Eastbourne shop

Crews were called to the incident in Grove Road yesterday (Wednesday, March 27).

Photos show several fire engines at the scene outside Camilla’s Bookshop.

A spokesman from the East Sussex Fire and Rescue Service said: “At 11.24pm yesterday three appliances were sent to a three-story building where there was fire in the ground-floor of the property.

“Firefighters wearing breathing apparatus used two hose reels and one main jet to tackle the fire.

“A fire investigation is now underway.”
