A spokesman for Sussex Police said officers were called by South East Coast Ambulance Service to a collision in South Cliff, Eastbourne, at 10pm last night (June 2).

A pedestrian suffered injuries including a head injury, police said, and was taken to hospital for treatment.

Pictures show a silver Ford with a smashed windscreen at the scene and an eyewitness said the air ambulance was called, but left without being used.
