A PEBBLED logo drew the attention of passers-by on Eastbourne seafront.

It marked World Fair Trade Day and was in support of making Eastbourne a Fairtrade Town.

“World Fairtrade Day reminds us just how many people Fairtrade

reaches, putting power in the hands of consumers and helping farmers to work their way out of poverty.” said Fairtrade Eastbourne member Catherine Holley.

Other recent activities have included painting with Fairtrade coffee and flying a Fairtrade cotton flag over the Town Hall.

“We love to celebrate Fairtrade and the positive impact it has and

art works are always very visible and engaging.” said Nick Grant, another group member.

Fairtrade Eastbourne campaign for more awareness and availability of Fairtrade in Eastbourne and are working to get Eastbourne certified as a Fairtrade Town.

Meetings are held every fourth Tuesday of the month at 7.30pm, upstairs in Bibendum, in Grange Road.
