A 26-year-old Eastbourne man is hoping to change people’s lives through a homeless project he launched last year.

Patrick Long, known as Fatz, was on a night out with friends in 2013 when he saw people sleeping rough on the streets and decided to do something about it.

At Christmas that year, he gathered together some of his own money and bought things like hats, gloves, water, food and tissues from eBay to give to the homeless in the town.

Patrick repeated the project this summer and now hopes to make it a more regular event with the help of donations from the public.

The music producer has made a video documenting his project, which can be seen on his Go Fund Me page online.

He said, “It takes less then we think to give more.

“I aim to help inspire people to do the same. With such good feedback to the summer video so far, I believe more videos, more projects and more movements could really change lives.”

Patrick hopes to raise £5,000 to help his project keep going and is planning another trip out to the streets soon to distribute things such as raincoats and sleeping bags ahead of the cold and wet winter season.

Patrick runs Face Down Musik Productions and Entertainment with Supream and Cyprenne, which is a growing organisation helping a lot of artists that is also supporting his homeless project.

However, in the meantime, the 26-year-old is working full -time at a DIY store to save as much of his wages as he can towards the good cause.

Patrick has raised £70 in one month so far. To donate, or to watch the video created about the homeless project, visit his Go Fund Me page at
