TWO men who beat two vulnerable victims in Hastings and Eastbourne have been jailed.
Jobless Jordan Battams, 20, of no fixed address, and Ashley King, 23, also unemployed of Pelham Road, Seaford, were convicted of committing grievous bodily harm on a 30-year-old man in his flat in Cambridge Gardens, Hastings, over two days in September 2011.
They inflicted serious arm and face injuries on the vulnerable man after staying in his flat.
Battams was convicted of two assaults on the same victim and King was found guilty of one assault on him over the two days.
Battams was also convicted of grievous bodily harm after attacking a man in Eastbourne town centre on 11 October last year. The victim suffered serious facial injuries and underwent surgery to his jaw.
The pair were sentenced at Brighton Crown Court with Battams jailed for a total of eight years, with four on extended licence, and King was given three-and-a-half years in prison.
After the case, Detective Constable Paul Wren said, “These were unprovoked and nasty assaults on vulnerable men.
“The length of their custodial sentences reflect the seriousness of the offences.”
