Very surprised to see our Eastbourne recycling collection was mixed up together

We have just had our bi-weekly collection of recycling and were very surprised to see that despite carefully putting the glassware separate to the rest of recycling the operatives tipped them in on top of everything else surely this then contaminates everything else with broken glass.

What is the point of everyone separating their recycling if it is all going to be thrown in together?
