After leaving the hospital after my night shift I quickly hopped into the car as the thick ice covered the car.

I noticed something stuck to my window screen and instantly get my guard up thinking I’ve been hit with a parking penalty!

I grabbed the note from the window to find a hand written note saying “Thank you, sleep well” then looked around to see another note on someone else’s car [see picture above].

It instantly put a smile on my face. What a lovely gesture! It’s these small acts of kindness that makes it that much easier.

Working at the DGH intensive care unit at the moment is extremely challenging and is testing even the best of us but getting a note like this reminds me of why we do what we do.

This may be of no interest to you but it really made me smile.
