Very disappointed to read of Eastbourne Borough Council’s lacklustre response to your story on the future of Motcombe Swimming Pool click here to read.

I moved back to Eastbourne in September 2020 after a 25 year break and as a non-driver, the proximity to Motcombe Pool (a five minute walk) was the deciding factor, not least because I learnt to swim there myself almost 40 years ago.

This fantastic community asset shouldn’t be permitted to collapse into disrepair.

Its restoration and modernisation should be a priority for any town committed to ensuring its citizens good health, water safety, reducing antisocial behaviour amongst the youth and serving as a melting pot for young and old alike to come together and have a good time.
