Eastbourne Post Office was in Terminus Road

Your photographs in the newspaper of Old Eastbourne shops were interesting but I would like to correct one common mistake; the Post Office was not in Langney Road, it was “Terminus Road Post Office” at 143/145 Terminus Road.

I know because I worked there for six years in the late 1950s and many locals made that mistake, resulting in them having to trek to Langney in order to collect their new pension books.

The whole history of this Post Office can be found on your website, from its beginnings in 1884 up to 2017 when it was transferred to WH Smith’s premises.
