LETTER: Why leave rail users in cold?

Having waited more than one hour and 45 minutes for my train to London, delayed due to a track fire and over- running engineering works, the waiting rooms at Polegate Station remained shut yet again in the freezing cold.

This is a regular occurrence and has been reported to my MP Caroline Ansell. It’s terrible – the elderly and children are waiting and if it’s raining we are all left standing in it. They used to open them early. I’m on the station at 5.30 am. When the trains run the station should be ready
