LETTER: Wardens burn midnight oil

One Friday night between 9.30pm and 7.30am my wife received a parking fine for being half on a double yellow and half off in a residential area '“ namely my own street (St Mary's Road).

Now, I’m not opposed to parking fines. However, having wardens out in the middle of the night to catch people out is in my opinion not a health and safety issue but purely a cash raising opportunity.

This fine represents, to me, a significant sum and further increases my belief that the council is hell bent on taking money off people that can least afford it.
