LETTER: Ties a knotty problem?

The latest issue of Lewes District Council's colourful (and publicly-funded) '˜District News' has landed on my doormat with the headline that we shall now be managed at arm's-length from the Eastbourne seaside by sharing a Chief Executive.

A money-saving exercise of note, but surely Mr Rob Cottrill can afford a neck tie on his new, inflated salary? If not, I would be happy to send him something appropriate: perhaps a cravat emblazoned with the emblems of the two local authorities under his wings.
