LETTER: Parking peril on the pavement

I was just walking home along Seaside when I had to manoeuvre past not one, but two side-by-side vehicles parked across the whole pavement area outside a barber's shop. As I'm a '˜wide load', walking five medium dogs, I found this ludicrous!

I used to care for an elderly blind lady. How the heck is a blind person supposed to get round safely? How can people with mobility scooters or folk with a double buggy get by safely? The answer is – they can’t.

As for our councillor giving the suggestion that ‘pavement parking is an option to consider in Eastbourne’, she’s quite delusional. Where are the ticket wardens? Where’s the local police presence?

One of the vehicles involved was a black BMW which is ALWAYS parked there.
