LETTER: The kindness of strangers

Could I please say the heartiest thanks to the small group of people who helped my elderly dad out when he stumbled and knocked his head, near Eastbourne Library on Tuesday afternoon (November 8)?

I haven’t lived in the town since the mid-1980s and am now based just outside Norwich so can’t be around on a day-to-day basis, so it is good to know that there are still such caring and selfless people in my home town.

It rather took me by shock to see him in such a bruised and bloody state such that I didn’t take any contact details, so this letter of thanks is the only offer of generosity I can make to them.
