LETTER: How long will the money last?

When the proposal to sell the downland farms was first made public the council said the money raised would go to projects such as the revamp of Devonshire Park.

Now they threaten to cut services if the farms are not sold.

But how long will the money raised from the sale last? How can we be sure that once that finite sum is gone the services will not be cut anyway?

I read and re-read the ‘Questions Answered’ piece in the Herald [January 20] and saw nothing to reassure me that the farms will be sure to continue to be maintained as they are now.
