LETTER: Horrified by the ban on fishing

Having just returned to Cardiff from a holiday in Eastbourne with a well-known Welsh coach company, I was horrified to hear when we had a walk on the pier that fishing is to be banned by the new owner.

One of the reasons for choosing Eastbourne as our holiday destination was to recall past memories of being taken on the pier as a young boy to go fishing.

How can someone justify this when it has brought so much pleasure to so many people over the years?

I sincerely hope someone in authority takes notice of the amount of signatures we have been told have been sent in against this ridiculous idea.

I really hope the next time we visit Eastbourne we will see the fishermen enjoying their leisurely pastime.
