LETTER: Given one-sided point of view

I am writing express my opinions on the sale of Eastbourne's downland. The way in which the article was written in the Eastbourne Review was certainly very one-sided and did not give the option for the Conservative group to give a balanced argument against the sale.

The question at the end asking people to tick either the box for cutting services or selling the downland was a cynical way by the ruling LibDem group to guarantee they win the day.

Who is going to tick the box to sell the downs when the public are virtually being scared into ticking the LibDems’ favoured option? Although it seems the wrong thing to do, the morally correct thing to do is to tick the box to cut services.

I have emailed David Tutt, the Leader of Eastbourne Borough Council, and he has indicated that the council will go with the majority on the poll returns. I would urge everybody to do the right thing, and save our downland heritage for future generations.
