LETTER: Disgusted by the dog poo

After what appeared to be several months where dog poo was not so prevalent on the streets of Eastbourne we appear to be once again quite literally surrounded by the stuff, especially in the Seaside area and along the seafront east of the pier.

While I appreciate wild animals such as foxes, for example, are not what one could describe as considerate in their choice of location for their bowel motions it is quite clear that they are not solely responsible for the poo on the streets of Eastbourne and that a large amount of the mess on the streets is that of dogs.

One dares to simply ask the question – what exactly is wrong with dog owners or those in charge of a dog who elect not to clean up after their pets?

Dogs are animals. There is no problem with them having a bowel motion. The problem is quite simply with those who choose to walk away and leave it.

We should be proud of our town and to see dollops of poo all over the place is quite frankly disgusting. Those that allow their dogs to defecate on the pavement or roads and who don’t clean it up are quite frankly disgusting, disgraceful and a menace to society! Praise indeed for responsible dog owners and shame on you who leave dog mess on the streets.
