LETTER: Damage to the fabric of society

In a climate of distrust of politics and politicians (Trump's victory!) I find it hard to take seriously MP Caroline Ansell's real hypocrisy when supporting special needs adults getting back to work [House to Home, November 4]. In Parliament she has consistently voted against repealing the Human Rights Act 1998, as well as voting against any increase in benefits for illness and disabilities.

I have had personal dealings with Mrs Ansell. I wrote her any open letter (via the Herald) about my special needs son and employment only to have an unsatisfactory reply from one of her flunkeys (advisers) who said she does not answer questions in the paper. Hey, I am one of your constituents! Perhaps she should go and watch I, Daniel Blake – which criticises the UK benefits system – and see what damage she and her Government are doing to the fabric of society.
