Impressed with Eastbourne's town manager - we're safe with him

I was walking though the centre of Eastbourne on November 26 from Bolton Road up to Bankers Corner, it looks like a builders yard of fencing and piles of other stuff that just shouldn’t be there, it’s just generally untidy.

I pointed this out to a man in an orange hi-vis jacket who seemed to be in charge, standing next to him was a young man.

We all got talking about the issue then the older man had to go, so I continued talking to the very well-spoken and knowledgeable younger man, having been impressed with what he was saying to me, I asked him his name, he was the town centre manager, Luke Johnson.

I was quite impressed with someone so young and knowledgeable could take the time to stop and explain the situation to me, he must be 30 years younger than me, and believe me he is a very forward thinking individual.

I will not disclose our private conversation with regards to the ongoing improvements he has now and for the future of Eastbourne. We should not let this man go anywhere else so that they can reap the rewards of his experience.

Do I think Luke Johnson is the man to take this town forward? Yes, I most certainly do.

This town is in safe hands with Luke Johnson here and thank goodness for that.
