How can East Sussex councillors justify pay rises when services are being cut?

With regard to your article ‘County funding plea to treasury’, it seems the people of East Sussex are having to pay more for less, ie services cut left right and centre.

Charges for certain items disposed of at the Eastbourne tip, brown bin charge etc.

I posed a question to Cllr Glazier, in which I asked, “How can you justify your recent 37 per cent pay rise, with increased charges for less services?” His response was, “It wasn’t my decision!”

He continues to fail to answer the question, posed by many.

Surely he should have done the honourable thing and rejected the 37 per cent, accepting perhaps two per cent which would I’m sure be more than the county’s hard working nurses and carers ever get?

Apparently, Mr Glazier went to see Liz Truss MP, to explain the pressure the county and it’s people are under! Hmmm!

Perhaps you’d finally like to answer my question Mr Glazier?
