What a load of bollards.

The new grey cubes that have appeared in the precinct are stunning in so many ways.

More like tank traps from the Normandy D/Day beaches, camouflaged to match the surroundings, random potential leg breakers, which can lead to damage and injury claims from the public purse.

Between East Sussex Council and Eastbourne Town Centre Steering Group, they do not appear to have an ounce of common sense.

They have missed an opportunity to be with the zeitgeist of Eastbourne’s Carbon Neutral Plan.

Why not use trees to ‘guide vehicles through Terminus Road towards Cornfield Road’ with colourful seats set at appropriate heights around the trees to help make the precinct less stark.

The new layout through the whole precinct from the station to Terminus Road needs more sizeable trees to capture CO2 and help to clean the air of vehicle emissions.

The sooner the cubes are removed the better for all.
