Our fantastic Night to Remember which took place on Eastbourne seafront two weekends ago raised an outstanding £91,000; enough to fund all of the care we offer in the community and at the house for 13 days.
Whilst this is a massive achievement for both the walkers and the charity we are not able to rest on our laurels; after all, we have another 352 days to pay for.
For organisers of the Night to Remember attentions have now turned to Chestnut’s China Challenge. Described as ‘the challenge of a lifetime,’ the trek will see an exclusive team of challengers explore the mysteries of the Great Wall whilst raising enough money to pay for all of Chestnut Tree House’s care services whilst they are away.
Registration opened this month and we already have 3 plucky explorers signed up. If you fancy taking on this legendary Wonder of the World you can find out more by visiting www.chestnut-tree-house.org.uk/china
We are also busy preparing for the Eastbourne Carnival this weekend. As any Eastbourne resident will know, nothing beats a sunny evening on the seafront, so we have our fingers crossed that the Sunshine Carnival can live up to its name. We will be taking part in the procession so keep an eye out for a sea of gold and be sure to give us a cheer.
