AN EASTBOURNE Dad is staging a one man protest outside the Orange store in Eastbourne.

Simon Mercer claims the mobile telephone company is refusing to unlock his phone so he can move his number and custom to rivals Vodafone.

Today (Tuesday) is his second day of protest outside the Terminus Road store in a bid to get the company to give him an unlock code so he can sign up with Vodafone and take his mobile phone number with him.

“I am entitled to the unlock code but Orange is refusing to let me have it,” said Mr Mercer, of Meadows Road, Willingdon.

“I have been a loyal Orange customer for 15 years but the way I am being treated is appalling.”
