Nursing home scoops gold standard award

AN EASTBOURNE nursing home has scooped the prestigious Gold Standard Beacon Award for its dedication to quality care for elderly residents.

Pentlow Nursing Home is the only nursing home in the East Sussex to achieve Beacon status, as part of the Gold Standards Framework in Care Homes Quality Hallmark Awards.

It is the second time the home in Summerdown Road has earned the coveted NHS and Age UK backed Beacon status for end of life care – the highest standard that can be reached.

Pentlow manager Lesley Wicks said, “Achieving the award for the second time proves that we continue to provide excellent standards and quality end of life care for our residents. All my staff have striven to provide the very highest standard to residents and their relatives.”

Professor Keri Thomas, GSF National Clinical Lead, said, “GSF is about a gold standard of care for all care home residents as they come to the last stage of their life. Pentlow Nursing Home has proved that it is achieving this over a sustained period, continually building on what is already a high standard of care.“

Pentlow Nursing Home also has a three star excellent rating from the Care Quality Commission.
