Nothing was too much trouble at the DGH

After reading all the damning headlines in the national press about the NHS, may I be as bold as to say that during my stay at the Eastbourne DGH,the staff were amazing.

They were kind, caring, compassionate and totally committed to patient care. Nothing was too much trouble for them and they remained dignified and professional even when having abuse hurled at them by a psych patient (which was on-going day and night).

All the staff (A & E, surgery, scanning and Hailsham 3) deserve a bit more respect than the media are giving NHS staff as a whole at the moment. Twelve hour shifts with half an hour unpaid lunch....time to re-think who should be getting the bad press?
