No arrests in Eastbourne as pubs packed with football fans for England clash

Police have confirmed that no football-related arrests were made in Eastbourne last night (Monday, June 11).

Pubs were busy with fans gathered for the England vs France match-up, which kicked off at 5pm yesterday, but Sussex Police has said that there were no related arrests either during or after the game, which England drew 1v1.

Officers had warned revellers to behave amid concerns of a spike in drunk behaviour during England matches but it appears a high police presence outside most town centre bars has seen the first of England’s three group games pass peacefully.

The next test will be this coming Friday when England face Sweden at 7.45pm.
