Drusillas is opening a new water attraction in its zoo park in Alfriston.
The new fountain, which promises fun for all ages will open next Easter.
Following a £300,000 investment, the new attraction hopes to be the ultimate splash pad experience and will be known as ‘Get Wet!’.
The colourful two hundred square metre installation will replace Monkey Kingdom at the park and include a thrilling collection of water jets, ground geysers, twirling streams and spiralling sprays.
Visitors will be able to dodge the flower fountains, weave past the wavy palm trees and become completely immersed in the fun.
Laurence Smith, managing director, said, “The new attraction will provide children with some state-of-the-art sensory water play but above all it will be a great deal of fun.
“There will be a quieter area for our youngest visitors and a grassed area, with benching where adults can relax too.
“It has been designed and created by water play experts, Ustigate who are the UK’s largest splash pad installation company. Work is already underway and the new area should open next spring.
“We are very excited about the final result.”
The new water park will join many other popular attractions at the park including the Thomas train and the Hello Kitty theme park, which is full of rides for children and their parents to enjoy.
Drusillas Park celebrated its 90th anniversary this year.
The zoo began as a tea rooms and small zoo on a derelict farm in 1925.
Today the zoo bills itself as the best small zoo in the country’, and features penguins, camels, monkeys, snakes, and meerkats among other attractions.
It has helped to home an breed many different animals over the years. This summer a beetle thought to have been extinct in the UK was housed at the zoo.
Drusillas has been given awards over the years and is a popular day out with both local families and visitors from further a-field.
The park is located just off the A27 near Alfriston.
