A NEW landlord team at a Willingdon pub have started fundraising for Sussex’s only children’s hospice.
Gavin and Nicky Finnis, who recently became the new landlord and lady of the Red Lion, decided to continue with the pub’s support for the Chestnut Tree House with a string of charity events.
They kicked off their fundraising for the charity with a quiz night last month which raised £140 and will be holding more events over the coming weeks.
A spokesman for the charity said, “It is fantastic that the Red Lion in Willingdon has continued to support the Chestnut Tree House.
“The locals are always so generous and we would like to thank everyone who attended the quiz night.
“Special thanks go to quiz master Paul Hayes who helped organise the event.
“Support from the local community means we are able to provide care for 23 families in the Eastbourne area who need our support throughout the year – so thank you from everyone at Chestnut Tree House.”
