A BRAND new community event for young people is being held in Eastbourne on June 25.
The Human Table Football Fest 2011 is the brainchild of the Rotary Club of Beachy Head and is due to take place on the Western Lawns from 10am.
ESK is to sponsor the event. There will be two giant, inflatable five-a-side football pitches as well as a schools’ talent show, with live music and local bands all taking part.
There will also be fairground attractions, a children’s entertainer, refreshments and ice cream stalls, and a host of other activities for the whole family.
It is expected that the Eastbourne Borough Under 15s squad will be taking part and mayor Carolyn Heaps and MP Stephen Lloyd will also be joining in on the day.
Schools, youth clubs, scouts, guides and similar organisations are all being encouraged to take part.
Entry is free, participants can register on the day.
Teams of five will be required for the football, which will take place over three sessions throughout the day, enabling some 500 youngsters to compete for the range of trophies and prizes on offer.
Members of the Rotary Club of Beachy Head along with partners, friends and supporters will be running the event on the day and collecting in aid of the mayor and local MP’s charities as well as other local Rotary charities.
