Get your dancing shoes on, as Music Live – a new week-long music festival – will be launching in Eastbourne this summer.

And Eastbourne Borough Council is calling upon all the town’s music venues, local bands and talented musicians to take part in the event, which runs from July 13-19.

Music Live will be a week-long eclectic mix of live music performances in venues across the town, allowing local musicians to showcase their talent.

The event will be run as part of the three-week Eastbourne Festival in July, which celebrates both traditional and contemporary arts, from music and literature to dance, comedy and film.

The music festival will have multiple performances throughout the month, with afternoon and evening performances scheduled, as well as some pop-up performances at surprise locations around the town.

Partner organisations will be getting involved, including the Eastbourne Hospitality Association, Town Team and the Chamber of Commerce to bring this new event to Eastbourne’s busy summer events programme.

Eastbourne Borough Council Cabinet Member for Tourism, Leisure and Sports Services Cllr Carolyn Heaps said, “Eastbourne Borough Council is very happy to be involved in the well-established Eastbourne Festival, taking place throughout July. Music Live will build into the big celebration of live performance, providing an opportunity for live musical acts to be recognised in Eastbourne.”

The Eastbourne Borough Council Events team is currently seeking out established venues in Eastbourne with suitable live-performance facilities, who wish to take part in Music Live in July.

The week-long music festival is hoping to attract a line-up of musical acts from the world of jazz, folk, rock, pop and more.

Anyone wishing to take part in ‘Music Live’ should contact the Eastbourne Borough Council Events Team on or call 01323 415442

The Eastbourne Festival is an arts festival which takes place every year in the town. This year it will run from July 4 to 26, and it is in its seventh year.

It has become recognised as a showcase for professional and amateur talent, so Music Live event will join a variety of events across the town to celebrate local talent.
