MP welcomes manifesto for south east

DEAF people looking for work in Eastbourne have been given a boost by the town’s MP Stephen Lloyd.

Mr Lloyd met with people on a course at the Best Western York House Hotel on the seafront last month.

It was held to coincide with the launch of the Liberal Democrats’ manifesto for the south east focusing on what the political party is delivering for people across the region.

Mr Lloyd said, “The south east is a dynamic region but we must make sure we come out of these difficult times stronger, ready for the challenges and opportunities ahead. By rebalancing the economy, Liberal Democrats are doing the right thing to promote what we in the south east do best.

“Liberal Democrats have a proud record of delivering real change for people of the South East, from tax cuts for more than 3.5m low and middle-income people to putting extra money in our schools, public transport and broadband internet infrastructure as well as giving councils more powers.

“With these achievements, I look forward to a positive and successful campaign.”
