A couple who have raised more than £8,000 for the RNLI have scooped November’s Resident of the Month Award.

Frank and Jane Wellbelove from Deanland Wood Park hold various fundraising activities, including fish and chip suppers, entertainment and theme nights, as well as a weekly raffle which raises between £80 and £120 each time.

Frank has been a governor of the RNLI for more than 30 years and is a member of the Eastbourne RNLI fundraising committee.

He’s been raising funds for the charity for the past two years and has already collected an impressive amount in that time.

The couple said they are grateful for the support of everyone who helps them with their fundraising activities at Deanland Wood Park.

The Resident of the Month Award recognises unsung heroes in the local community.

It is jointly sponsored by Advanta Chartered Accountants and the Eastbourne Herald.

To say thank you for their fundraising efforts, Frank and Jane were presented with a certificate by Malcolm Toghill, Managing Director at Advanta.

Malcolm said, “Frank and Jane have worked hard to raise much needed funds for the RNLI, and they are fortunate to have the support of other residents at Deanland Wood Park.

“I was delighted to meet the couple to present them with November’s Resident of the Month Award.”

As part of their award, Frank and Jane are looking forward to a complimentary meal at Ridgways restaurant in Meads.
