East Sussex Healthcare NHS trust was placed in special measures in September, following a critical report by the Care Quality Commission.

The trust, which runs the Conquest Hospital in Hastings and Eastbourne’s DGH, as well as community services across East Sussex, is to hold a mock inspection later this month in readiness for the return of CQC inspectors at the beginning of October.

The inspection will cover eight core areas, including urgent and emergency services, medical care, surgery, critical care, maternity and gynaecology, children and young people, end of life care and outpatients.
