THE body of a teenage boy missing for more than a week has been discovered at the foot of cliffs at Beachy Head.
Sixteen-year-old Nikolas Brkic (pictured) was reported missing from his North London home on September 5.
His body was spotted during a routine coastguard patrol near the Beachy Head Lighthouse on Tuesday morning.
The Eastbourne coastguard cliff team was tasked and in fairly strong westerly Force 6 winds, coastguard cliffman Ben Callaway was lowered down to the beach.
Cliffman Callaway said Mr Brkic had been there for some days but the recent bad weather had prevented his earlier detection. His body was placed on a stretcher and winched up to the cliff top where he was passed into the care of the police.
Nikolas, of St John’s Wood, North London, left to visit friends on September 5 but when he failed to meet them or return home his mother reported him missing.
A spokesperson for Sussex Police said, “We are not treating his death as suspicious.”
