The car of a missing bike repair man has been found in the Eastbourne area.

David Payne was last seen by his sister on Friday, July 15, but was not reported missing to police until Wednesday (July 20).

The 57-year-old’s silver Ford Fusion car has been located in the Eastbourne area but his yellow Nomad bicycle has not.

David, from Henfield, West Sussex, is a keen cyclist and is used to long-distance rides.

He is described as white, 5’9”, of medium to stocky build, clean shaven and with receding straight white hair.

He may be wearing a blue shirt bearing a BikeMend logo - reflecting his job as a bike repairer - together with dark blue combat-style trousers.

Missing persons co-ordinator PC Mark Green said: “Please contact us if you have any information about David which may help us find him and ensure he is okay.”

If you see David or have any knowledge as to his whereabouts please email 101@sussex.pnn.police.uk or phone 101, quoting serial 1883 of 20/07.
