Ben Gatward was last seen going to bed at his home in Barnhorn Road at around 11pm yesterday (Sunday, February 26) but he was not there when checked on at 10am this morning.

Ben has learning and significant health difficulties and it was is very out of character for him to go out on his own.

Missing person Shannon Marchesani said before he was found: “We are extremely concerned for Ben as he is very vulnerable because of his health and the fact he is not sure used to being by himself.

“We have searches for him in the Bexhill and Eastbourne area with local officers and appealing for anyone who might have seen him this morning and getting public transport to please contact police.”

However the boy was found safe and well in Eastbourne shortly after police appealed for information.
