Government minister Justine Greening visited Eastbourne on Wednesday and took a trip to Ocklynge Junior School.
Ms Greening, the overseas minister, said, “I’ve never visited a school like this before. The success of this school comes down to the fantastic leadership of the staff and the teachers.”
The reason for the visit was the school’s links to India, Jamaica, Spain and Egypt. Ms Greening also met with local organisations doing their bit for the international community, and listened to their views. She said, “First of all there are some fantastic local organisations right here in Eastbourne, involved in international issues.
“It is really great to see people so engaged and doing their bit in engaging local communities in issues that effect all of us, at the end of the day.”
