A 30-YEAR-OLD man accused of having an air gun during a six-hour stand off with police has appeared in court.
William Hannah, of Linden Close, has been charged with assault, threats to kill, possession of a firearm without a certificate, possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life and attempted grievous bodily harm of a police officer.
Police were called to Linden Close at 9.25pm on Tuesday (August 21) after reports a man had an air rifle and was refusing to come out of the house. Specially trained officers alongside local units negotiated with the man for several hours before he was arrested around 3am.
Hannah was remanded in custody after appearing at Eastbourne Magistrates’ Court today (August 23).
He will appear again at Lewes Crown Court in November on a date to be fixed.
