A man has been found near Birling Gap following a search and rescue operation.

The coastguard was called out at around 6.50pm yesterday (August 30) after a report of a person missing in the Birling Gap area.
Coastguard rescue teams from Eastbourne, Newhaven and Birling Gap were sent, along with an RNLI lifeboat from Newhaven.
The lifeboat crew found the man safe and well on land nearby, and was helped back to Birling Gap by coastguards.
It is believed he was looking for his dog when he went missing.
