Man attacked by woman in early morning assault in Eastbourne

Police are appealing for witnesses after a man was assaulted by a woman in Eastbourne.

The early morning attack happened in Devonshire Place when the man in his twenties suffered scratch marks as he walked home following a night out.

Police say that the man was assaulted by a woman, who was white and in her mid to late twnties, at arouond 4am on Sunday, November 25.

Detective Constable Jamie Pooley, of East Sussex CID, said: “I am keen to identify any witnesses who can help us establish what occurred.

“I am particularly keen to trace a taxi driver who was approached by the woman at around the time of the incident and I would also like to hear from a local resident who is believed to have leaned out of a nearby window to verbally intervene.”
