Man arrested over fire in Hampden Park

Police have made an arrest following a fire in Kingston Road this afternoon (October 30).

Emergency crews rushed to the house, where the garage was ablaze, just after midday.

Crews dealt with the fire using two breathing apparatus and a hose reel jet.

Firefighters alerted police at 12.20pm after being called to the fire. Nobody is reported to have been injured.

A 26-year-old man of no fixed address was arrested at the scene on suspicion of arson, according to Sussex Police.

He remained in custody on Friday afternoon.
